A member shared with me how the sunk cost fallacy affected him. He realised that he'd been overinvesting in a relationship with the hope of better times but that he now realised this was never going to happen. That led him to examine other areas of his life which led to the disheartening realisation that a strong trait of his - loyalty - was in many cases misplaced. He's decided to do a full audit of all aspects of his personal and professional life to see which relationships are reciprocal and serve him, and which drain him and that he needs to let go of.
